Pope John Paul II Catholic High School is currently taking applications for the 2010-2011 school term. We have openings in the freshman class with limited openings in all upper- levels. Please call the Admissions Office for more details.


Requirements for Applicants for 2010-2011 school year: 

Criteria
Admission to Pope John Paul II Catholic High School is based on:

•  Previous academic and standardized test performance
•  Results of High School Placement Test (9th grade only)
•  Student and parent/guardian commitment to join the Pope John Paul II Catholic High School community
•  Student commitment to strive continuously to obtain his or her highest potential

Application
  Applications must be submitted online Online Application.
•  Parent/guardian creates a unique, private username and password to use for the one-time application and for subsequent yearly registration.
•  On submission of the application, a confirmation email is sent to the applicant.

Grade

Academic Records
Applicants must submit a copy of grades from the student’s previous two school years.

•   For students who attend Holy Family Regional Catholic School, Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School, St. Ann Catholic School, or St. John the Baptist Catholic School, the respective school office will forward the grades directly to Pope John Paul II Catholic High School.
•   All other applicants must provide a copy of the grades to the Admissions Office.


Standardized Test Scores
Applicants must submit reports for any standardized tests taken at the school or independently over the previous two years.

•   For students who attend Holy Family Regional Catholic School, Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School, St. Ann Catholic School, or St. John the Baptist Catholic School, the respective school office will forward the test scores directly to Pope John Paul II Catholic High School.
•   All other applicants must provide a copy of the scores to the Admissions Office.


Teacher Recommendations
Applicants must submit recommendations from two current major subject teachers.

•   For students who attend Holy Family Regional Catholic School, Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School, St. Ann Catholic School, or St. John the Baptist Catholic School, the requested teachers will be provided online access to the recommendation form. Students will need to ask two teachers to fill out the electronic recommendation form.
•   All other applicants must provide requested teachers a copy of the Recommendation Form and a pre-stamped envelope addressed as follows:

Admissions Dates

  • March 24 - 6:30 p.m. - Scheduling Meeting for all new students
  • May 18 - 6:30 p.m. - New Student Reception
  • June 1 & 3- Algebra and Computer Proficiency Testing
  • August 2- Freshman Experience (all 9-12 new students)

Applications wanting to transfer at other grade levels or applicants who wish to apply after the initial application/ testing deadlines should contact the School Office. All dates are subject to change. 

Admission to Catholic High School is based on: previous school performance; performance on our placement test; a positive attendance record; a strong desire to attend CHS; and a willingness to work to the highest potential. 

Transfer Procedures 
Applicants are admitted as sophomores, juniors and seniors as space permits. Admission as a transfer student is based on the same criteria as stated above. 

Registration Information 
Upon completion of the admission process, the applicant's file is presented to the Admission Committee. You will be notified of their decision. To complete enrollment, parents must provide completed registration forms and pay the $200.00 non-refundable registration fee.

Reregistration
All Returning Students must reregister each year in order to remain a student for the following year. Reregistration can be done online by following the Registration Link above. A $200 non-refundable registration fee is also due at this time.

Tuition Information 
The Board of Directors sets tuition annually. Tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is $6,900.00. Tuition includes rental of textbooks, science lab fees, art fees, computer fees, etc.

Tuition Assistance

Catholic High School offers tuition assistance through FACTS and is strictly need based. Information for applying can be picked up in the front office or by visiting the FACTS Tuition Assistance website: www.factstuitionaid.com Catholic High School Financial Aide Committee rewards assistance in late spring for the following school year. If tuition assistance is requested after the initial rewards are given, assistance may no longer be available.

 

Uniform Policy
The dress and appearance of the student plays an important role in the overall atmosphere of the school program. Students are expected to be well groomed, neat, and clean at all times, and are required to wear the approved uniform as outlined in the school manual. See dress code.
