Pope John Paul II Mission & Beliefs

Mission

The mission of Catholic High School
is to serve the families of our Catholic parishes and the wider community
by providing a Catholic education in a caring environment
that stresses academic excellence.
Catholic High School is committed to developing the total person
in body, mind, and spirit.
We pledge to teach the message of the Gospel and the Tradition, to form a school community of faith, to provide experiences of liturgy and prayer, and to guide students to loving service.
We will encourage, challenge, and support each student to learn enthusiastically, to lead honorably, and to live responsibly in our world.

CHS Beliefs

1)   Catholic tradition, teaching, and practice enrich the learning environment for the student.
2)
Curriculum and instructional practices incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate each student’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.
3)
Students learn best and produce quality work when actively engaged in demonstrating essential knowledge, skills, and problem solving.
4)
Students’ spiritual and academic needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the school.
5)
A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.
6
Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for fulfilling and advancing the school’s mission.
7)  Cultural diversity can increase students’ understanding of different peoples and cultures.
