Catholic High School offers four languages:
French, Spanish, German and Latin. Latin will place emphasis on
primary source translation instead of conversational skills.
Additional language classes may be available through our Dual
Enrollment program with UAH.
The language is introduced through a
proficiency-based program that helps the student to develop the
skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Cultural
themes and basic conversational patterns are taught.
Material from the first level is
reviewed and a more detailed study of vocabulary and grammar is
included. More complex structures of the language along with the
intermediate conversational skills are presented and cultural
themes of the first level are expanded.
